Wireless woes II – stone the crows
Posted on July 24th, 2006 at 7:33 pm by Furcot

Whoo hoo, got the wireless connection working – although some alignment would appear to be neccessary at the other end – a large black crow that has taken to sitting on the business end of the dish this end is enough to degrade the connection – as is rain, there are some tall trees at the other end, and when soaked by heavy rain they seem to affect the signal, and wet leavs + bird kills the signal completley. Wrong kind of leaves? anyway watch this space, some carefull alignment will follow as soon as we have the time, and we have a secret weapon (no I don’t mean any harm to the bird!) on it’s way that WILL sort the problem…..

Orange fungus attacked our table football

AAAggghhh – uncovered our table football in the garden, and discovered it has been attacked by bright orange (dyno-rod flouresent) furry fungus. Not good. Is the future of mankind at stake from the orange furry fungus?

Cleaned it up with an antibacterial spray (for now)………

It had been left for two weeks under a tarp – and the temp here reached 30 degrees plus, perhaps I have created orange furry life?

Decided to attack the wireless issue with poles, intend to achieve a height of some 30 foot using a second pole and a higher gain “squarial”
